Stamford Police were honored at an annual memorial ceremony Wednesday morning outside the City’s Police Department. The ceremony included the raising of the flag, a wreath presented in remembrance of those fallen, and the reading of the names of the four police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others (Andrew Louis Schlechtweg, George Kelly, David Troy, William McNamara). Speakers included Stamford Mayor David Martin, Chief of Police Jon Fontneau, Director of Public Safety Ted Jankowski, and Assistant Police Chief James Matheny.
