The Town of Greenwich will be putting on two fireworks displays this Saturday night. The first show will be at Binney Park where parking is tough to come by.
"There is some street parking and there is some parking lot parking at the Arcadia Lot, and down across from the Civic Center. You would have to walk from there to the site," said Sergeant John Slusarz.
It's about a half mile walk from the Civic Center, and handicapped accessible parking will be offered at the Binney Park tennis courts. The second show will go off from Greenwich Point.
"The whole Point is open for parking. If you have a parking permit for Greenwich, or Greenwich Point, then parking is free. Otherwise, it is like a regular day," said Slusarz.
The daily parking passes are $25. Because of the volume of cars, police are urging people to be patient once the shows are over.
"There is going to be a lot of traffic. Considering that both events are getting out almost at the same time, there is going to be about a 20 minute lag. We are going to be clearing out Binney Park, and immediately following that, Greenwich Point is going to be getting out. The big thing I want to tell you about Greenwich Point is there is only one lane out of it. So people that are going to Greenwich Point, while there is a lot of parking, you really have to be patient. It's going to take a while to get out because everybody has to go down to one lane to get out of there," Slusarz said.
Both shows are scheduled to start at dusk with a rain date of Sunday, July 6.
