Update: Beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, Metro North will operate hourly service. The MTA reports the reduced service is because of the heavy snowfall in the area. In addition, Metro North carried only one-third of the normal ridership this morning. Train times will be available shortly the MTA's interactive schedules page. Customers who are able to are urged to travel early before hourly service is put into effect.
Due to the predicted harsh conditions from the impending winter storm, Metro-North will operate reduced service on Thursday, February 13. The altered schedule will combine some local and express trains that serve adjacent stations. The combined trains aim to minimize customer impacts and to get customers to their destination within 10-15 minutes of their normal time.
The reduced service plan represents 75% of the regular service. According to Metro-North officials, the schedule is based on projected lower ridership and represents Metro-North's efforts to minimize the effects of the storm on the train's equipment and infrastructure.
