Family Centers is celebrating National Volunteer Week by honoring their many volunteers with a breakfast get-together.

"We have about 2,800 volunteers at Family Centers. This is the seventh year we are recognizing them," said Jennifer Flatow, the Director of Community Engagement.

"[They are] Very important to family Centers. couldn't exist without them," said Chairman Thomas Ashforth.

The volunteers help run over 30 different programs for people of all ages in the community.

"We have services ranging from preschool to Den for Grieving Children, to vocational services," said Flatow.

"...every program, benefit has a volunteer base," said Ashforth.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei read a proclamation urging all to get out and volunteer in the community.

"We see volunteers who donate one hour, and we have volunteers who have been here for 10-12 years. We are very lucky at Family Centers," said Flatow.
