Greenwich Animal Control along with the New Canaan Nature Center held a Wildlife Education Class to teach residents how to coexist with wild animals that can be found in the area. There were snakes, roaches, and even a very 'talkative' hawk.

Animal control says there are other animals in the woods of Greenwich that people should be aware of.

"wWe have everything, even bobcats int eh backcountry," said Animal Control Officer Stacy Rameor.

Animal Control says owners should keep their pets on leashes and not let them wander too far ahead. But, officers say these animals are usually just as afraid of humans as we are of them.

"If you see a fox or coyote that mangy and not looking to run away from you, call us," said Rameor.

Animal Control can be reached at 203-622-8299.
