The United States Small Business Association reports there are 28 million small businesses currently operating in the country, and these small businesses help local communities in big ways.

"Jobs, revenue for the Town, bringing people to Town, all of it is support for our community," said First Selectman Peter Tesei.

The newest small business to come to Greenwich is CHOP'T, a salad company specializing in far away flavors

"and we work very hard to source locally and responsibly," said Nick Marsh, Chop't CEO.

CHOP'T is all about healthly eating and works to promote healthy lifestyles for kids.

"We are passionate about getting good food in the schools," said co-founder Tony Shure.

And the philanthropic company works with organizations in the community to raise money for children.

"We had the opportunity to do a  fundraiser with K for K, which was started by Greenwich high school and middle school kids. Its feeds children in the Appalachian County. We raised over $3,000.

CHOP'T is located in the Riverside Commons shopping center.
