Riding the New Haven line in Connecticut is going to get a little more expensive. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has raised fares 1 percent for travel between CT and NY stations, and travel within CT stations.

A monthly pass from Greenwich to Grand Central will increase about $3.00, and a weekly pass will increase by $.75. Other lesser fares will not be effected because of the small percentage.

This fare increase is to help pay for the new M8 cars that will be replacing the 4 decade old cars currently in use. This hike will go into effect on January 1.
