Hope shined in Greenwich Sunday morning as hundreds put their pink foot forward for the Breast Cancer Alliance's 9th Annual Walk for Hope.

"I don't think there is anyone who hasn't been effected by breast cancer so it's really important for me to feel like everyday I am giving back. This is just an incredible cause and we need a cure. I think we are all ready to find one," said Yonni Wattenmaker, Executive Director for the Breast Cancer Alliance.

"It's one of our only events where everyone can participate, from dog to child to husband to wife. It's really just a celebration for people who have been through a lot and who want to remember the people that they love dearly," said Caroline Brecker, co-chair for the Walk for Hope.

"I'm really excited to walk down Greenwich Avenue and to walk with everyone," said Aria, one of the participants at this year's walk.

This year, talk show host Trisha Goddard served as Grand Marshall. Goddard was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and is now a 6 year survivor.

"It sounds like an awful thing to say but in this world, as far a cancer is concerned, these days with the strides that are being made in research and treatment, breast cancer is almost one of the better cancers to have. I know that sounds dreadful but there is help out there and the earlier you go get it, the better," said Goddard.

Proceeds from the one-mile walk will benefit the organization's work to find a cure.

Nicole Ewing, one of event's co-chair's said, "All of us have been touched in some way or another by cancer. Whether it is a family member, whether it is a co-worker, a friend, a sister or a mother. It's a way of giving back and showing our support as we all try to stop this disease."
