According to a press release from the Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works - Engineering Divison, replacement of the John Street Bridge over the East Byram River will begin on June 17, 2013.
Construction will begin on the replacement of the John Street Bridge, located on John Street between Riversville and Round Hill Roads on June 17, 2013. As part of the contrcution work, the road is scheduled to be closed at the bridge site from Tuesday, June 25, 2013 to September 27, 2013. The new bridge is scheduled to be completed by December 2013.
The project was designed by Fuss and O'Neill, Inc. of Manchester, CT and construction will be performed by A. Vitti Excavators, LLC of Stamford, CT. The construction contract for the project is for $709,216.50.
A detour has been established for the duration of the streets closure.
Traffic wanting to travel eastbound on John Street shall utilize Riversville Road south to North Porchuck Road east to West Old Mill Road east to Round Hill Road.
Traffic wanting to travel westbound on John Street shall utilize Round Hill Road south to West Old Mill Road west to North Porchuck Road west to Riversville Road.
