The Cardinals baseball team was shut out its last two games against Staples and Oxford, but that all changed when Greenwich hosted Norwalk High on Monday afternoon.

Norwalk scores a quick 5 runs in the top of the first inning off Greenwich pitcher Anthony Ferraro.

Greenwich then has a few opportunities to score- Here in the third Alex Loparco singles to left and steals two, but is stranded there on a fly ball for out number three.

Cardinals defense holds the Bears steady.  Norwalk hits this rocket right to third baseman Matt Strati who steps on third base for a double play.

The Cardinals rally in the bottom of the fifth to score 9 runs. They load the bases with no outs and score two runs on two singles.

Then Kevin Woodring steps to the plate and sends this one to the wall in left center. Two more will come around to score and the Cardinals now trail by 1 with 1 out.

Colin Kelly follows with this double to deep right to tie things up at 5.

Center fielder Devin McGrath sends this one into the sky and will have himself a triple sliding safe into third and knocking in the 7th and 8th runs of the inning.

Greenwich will go on to score one more run and beat Norwalk 9-5.

The boys baseball team will play seventh ranked Fairfield Warde on Wednesday at home at 4:00.
