For the second time in just eight days, a Range Rover has been stolen in Greenwich. The most recent theft occurred Sunday night here at the corner of East Elm St. and Mason.

"We have noticed a trend where in the Central Greenwich business district, we've had 5 high end cars stolen," said Lt. Kraig Gray.

The Greenwich Police Dept. reports that all of those cars were unlocked and the keys were left inside the vehicle. Police say people should take extra caution until an arrest is made.

"Lock the car, take keys with them. If they have any items of high value in the vehicle, secure it in the trunk or take it with you," said Gray.

Officials say the total number of car thefts in Town has been steady for the last few years, but the specific downtown location makes these particular thefts different.

"There's a good possibility that based on location, time, and the very specific vehicle being taken that they are linked," said Gray.

Police are asking citizens with any information to contact them on the tippling, or email the info to tips@greenwichct.org.
