The Greenwich Police Department has welcomed some new officers to its staff.

"Very excited to have three new officers sworn in today. This will bring our strength up to 151," said Chief James Heavey.

Greenwich has always been home for one new cadet, and he even participated in the Town's Citizens Police Academy program.

"It gave me great insight, training, and tools that I can apply going forward," said Sebastian Arenas.

And for the other two new officers, law enforcement has been a family tradition.

"I grew up with it, my father, grandfather, uncle. My family is steeped in law enforcement so I'm happy to continue that," said Max Rinaldi.

"Police work has been in my family, and my military background runs very linear with police work so I think it will be a very easy and natural transition," said Justin Quigliani.

"Since I was a kid I wanted to be a police officer and my dream is finally coming true," said Arenas.

The department reports that full capacity for Greenwich is 155 officers and they are working hard to get to that point.
