"I just got my head shaved," said Jenya Perr-Krisenko of GHS.

And so did 39 other students, faculty, and friends of Greenwich High School, all to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation.

"They are the second leading donors for pediatric cancer in the U.S. behind the government so I think that's an amazing cause," said Jimmy Catalano, a student at GHS.

"We were given a few weeks to raise as much money as we could and now we go up in front of our student center in front of a few hundred kids and shave our heads," said James Cavatarl, a GHS student.

"I'm here to donate my hair. I'm going to get 8 inches cut off," said Victoria Severo of GHS.

"It's a great cause. I think that if it's going to make someone's life better to have a wig, then there they go," said Perr-Krisenko.

This event has raised almost $27,000 and Jimmy here has raised $12,000 of that himself.

"The last time I got it shaved was around third grade. If something as simple as shaving my head can raise $12,000, I think that's awesome," said Catalano.

He says that his family and students at GHS have been affected with cancer. He also volunteers his time painting pediatric cancer patients' bedrooms.

"It's really hard to go into these houses and see these kids younger than me with this awful disease. It's devastating and I wanted to something to make an impact," said Catalano.

This is the third year Greenwich High School has held this fundraiser.

"It's a very very giving community. We've raised $90,000 the past three years," said event organizer Kerry Gavin.
