The 27th Annual "Puttin' on the Dog" is coming to Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Sunday, September 21.
"This event is renowned in our area. It attracts 5,000 people, hundreds of dogs will be on the field. It's a fun festival for everyone," said Allyson Halm, the Adopt-A-Dog President.
The festival includes different class competitions for dogs, such as best kisser, best costume, and best tail wagger.
"We created this event so it would, indeed, welcome every type of dog and every type of family," said Halm.
Adopt-A-Dog will have some of their 38 dogs and seven cats at the event for families to adopt. The rescue organization works to find lifetime homes for the animals. "Puttin on the Dog" is sponsored by Pet Pantry and all proceeds go to Adopt-A-Dog to help them help animals.
"We assist locally as much as possible. So, if you needed to find a place for your dog because there's a reason you can no longer keep it, please do call us. If we can't help you, we'll do our best to find help for you," said Halm.
The festival starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 4:30 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit, www.adoptadog.org.
