Take a step into France this weekend as Focus on French Cinema is coming to Greenwich.
"I think what we want to bring to the community is a wealth of French culture, we have wonderful French restaurants in Greenwich and we want and we want our public to understand the richness not only of French film but of French language and culture," said Renee Ketcham, President of Alliance Francaise of Greenwich.
"It is important to watch movies from another culture, it is another approach, another way of telling a story, but it still is universal, it's cinema, it's for everyone and those stories speak to each and every one of us," said Antoine Bancharel, Festival Team Member.
The festival, which opens Friday evening and continues through Sunday, features 20 French films.
"All 20 of the films are newly released French films, they're all in French with English subtitles, and we have among the 20, which is really extraordinary, 7 U.S. premiere films," said Ketcham.
The festival will also feature food from local French restaurants in Greenwich.
"There will be a little French corner in Greenwich, Connecticut, on Railroad Avenue just down from the famous Greenwich Avenue, right down there will be our own French corner," said Bancharel.
