What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a big bowl of ice cream! For the seventh year in a row, Rebecca Breed treated over 100 members to ice cream at the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich.
"We're having an ice cream meeting where everyone comes in, eats ice cream, talks to each other and just has a fun time," said Zhaire House, member of BGCG.
"It's just a tradition that the kids love and enjoy doing and everyone likes ice cream," said Patrick Paler, member of BGCG.
A tradition that is highly anticipated by all members and provides a fun and relaxed way to celebrate the day.
"Some of the kids don't get an opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day and so it's an opportunity for them to get together with their friends and socialize and there's no pressure on them, it's just a fun eating event for them," said Sukie McFadden, Interim Executive Director at BGCG.
A fun eating event made possible by the generosity of Rebecca Breed.
"I saw the kids having such a good time and I thought if I could play a part in that I would like to," said Rebecca Breed, longtime Board Member of BGCG. "Nobody was underwriting it so I thought, that's what I'm going to do."
