Stanwich School has been selected as the winner of the Solarize Greenwich contest. The elementary school will be awarded a 2.45 KW solar panel array for its winning entry.

Solarize Greenwich is a program in partnership with Renewable Resources, Inc. and the state of Connecticut. The limited time program hopes to increase the number of solar systems on residential properties in Greenwich.

The contest was between students in the town's public and private elementary schools and aims to educate children on the benefits of solar energy. Each competing school was asked to create an entry illustrating why they believe solar energy is good for their school and the community.
