The Greenwich PTA Council and the League of Women Voters Greenwich hosted a Board of Education Candidates' Forum Tuesday night at Central Middle School.
The six candidates on the ballot: three Democrats and three Republicans answered a questionson issues facing Greenwich Public Schools such as the achievement gap.
Debbie Appelbaum, Samarpana Tamm, and Laura Erickson will compete for the two seats available to the Democratic party.
Peter Bernstein and Brian Peldunas are the two endorsed Republican candidates, competing for two seats with Republican incumbent Peter Sherr.
Each candidate also discussed the issue of mental health and bullying.
The candidates also answered what they felt the role of the Board of Education should be.
Election Day is November 5, 2013.
There are four Board of Education seats to be filled, each is for a four-year term.
