The Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich will provide the featured dancing at the 28th Annual Great Chefs 2013, an evening of spectacular dining provided by top area chefs with all proceeds going to Greenwich Hospital.

The Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich, will feature a center stage performance, roaming dances, salsa-in-seconds demonstrations and will be on hand to dance with the anticipated 800 attendees.

“We want to add an element of exotic fun to the mix, “said Christine Georgopulo, president and owner of the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich.

The event will benefit community health in Westchester and Fairfield counties and Greenwich Hospital, which provides educational programs, healthcare screenings and support groups to Connecticut and New York residents.

The chefs will present signature dishes, and beverages from many of the finest restaurants, catering companies and beverage distributors in Connecticut and New York.

In addition, the Grande Ballroom will donate a dance program to the winner of the fundraiser's raffle and will offer special, preferred rates for its dance classes to the attendees.  The event will also include silent, live, and wine auctions, with proceeds going to the Hospital.

Great Chefs will honor the legendary Chef Angelo Vivolo, owner of Vivolo Restaurant, Bar Vetro, Cucina Vivolo and Bruschetteria in New York City and will also feature Pastry Chef Lisa Maronian, owner of Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes in Greenwich. Co-chairs this year's event are Greenwich residents Carolyn Crabtree and Shelly Tretter Lynch.

Chefs participating include Jonathan Mathias of A Dash of Salt and Sam Epps, Chef de Cuisine at Tarry Lodge in Port Chester, NY.  They will provide tastings designed to promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.

"Our exciting performances will enhance the excellence of the culinary talent that the event showcases,” Georgopulo said.  “This combination of talent has ensured that the Greenwich Hospital fundraiser has always been a sell-out and has become one of the premier social events of the season.”

Great Chefs 2013, will take place Friday, March 1 at 7 pm. The event will be held at the Westchester Country Club, 99 Biltmore Ave., Rye, NY.
